China Customs[edit]

China Customs is a disambiguation page (which includes, among other things, an article about Chinese pre-wedding customs). The link to that page in this template is unhelpful (and is also against MOS:DAB). Narky Blert (talk) 12:33, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

This template doesn't link there - Special:WhatLinksHere/China Customs. The only thing here that links to China Customs is your comment. Cabayi (talk) 12:39, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
Sovereign Base Areas Customs has a link to that dab page via this template. The |CN=article name parameter can be used to change the link there, though with only three blue links, and zero in the Europe template below it, the navboxes may as well be removed from the article. SiBr4 (talk) 13:01, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
11 months later, Sovereign Base Areas Customs still links to the DAB page Chinese customs, and User:DPL bot is still reporting this WP:INTDABLINK error. This really does need to be fixed. Narky Blert (talk) 19:01, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
@Narky Blert: I have fixed this in the way that SiBr4 suggested. -- John of Reading (talk) 19:23, 3 August 2017 (UTC)

Egypt is in Africa, not Asia. Please remove it from this list. 2001:630:12:1008:4D32:95E2:632:4963 (talk) 16:39, 25 June 2017 (UTC)

Not done This issue cannot be fixed by editing the template; see the "Attention" box at the top of this talk page. You could change the link target for "India" by adding "IND = Non-governmental organisations in India" as an extra parameter; another workaround would be to create a redirect from List of non-governmental organizations in India to an appropriate section of Non-governmental organisations in India. -- John of Reading (talk) 05:04, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

Not done similarly. The template {{Asia topic}} is general-purpose, so that category is not applicable. If you were to set up a new template using Asia topic, Template:Asia topic/doc#Creating a new template, then the category could be added there. Such a template could also hide away the use of "IND = ..." and "NP = ..." -- John of Reading (talk) 05:09, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

Please, add within "dependencies and other territories" Tibet Thank youA ri gi bod (talk) 17:06, 2 August 2017 (UTC)

Not done for now: Because of the nature of this navbar template, the ISO code for a country must be known in order to include it. Tibet does not yet have an ISO 3166 code and so may not be included here at this time. Thank you for your participation!  Paine Ellsworth  put'r there  22:27, 2 August 2017 (UTC)

Since the page Poverty in Afghanistan has been created, I request that the template be edited to account for this change Anandtr2006 (talk) 09:42, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

@Anandtr2006: This does not need an edit to the template, as the software will sort this out when it gets round to re-processing the other "Poverty in..." articles. For example, at Poverty in Bangladesh the "Poverty in Asia" box is showing a blue link for Poverty in Afghanistan. -- John of Reading (talk) 09:48, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

Please replace Nagorno-Karabakh with Artsakh as the state officially changed its name and the main Wikipedia page already change the name to the Republic of Artsakh. Growupon (talk) 02:51, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

Done, and thank you very much, Growupon, for the update!  Paine Ellsworth  put'r there  11:11, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
Paine Ellsworth, could you please make sure that the article "the" can be present in the article titles that the templates will provide. Thank you. --Growupon (talk) 19:17, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
The definite article "the" has been restored; however, we should note that the various subordinate articles, such as Economy of the Republic of Artsakh, as well as the main article, Republic of Artsakh do not really conform to the article naming policy at WP:CONCISE ("Republic of Artsakh" should be "Artsakh" with the full name noted in the lead in boldface type). That means that those titles should be renamed and this template edited accordingly.  Paine Ellsworth  put'r there  15:19, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
To Andrewa: since you closed the recent RM at Talk:Republic of Artsakh, it would be helpful to hear your thoughts on this. One editor there asked about renaming to just "Artsakh", and another advised to make that a dab page (see also Artsakh (disambiguation)). At present, it appears that Artsakh is a PTopic redirect.  Paine Ellsworth  put'r there  16:43, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
Since you ask, my immediate reaction is that Artsakh would be the best name for the article now at Republic of Artsakh (where I moved it according to the RM consensus I assessed). And yes, Golbez suggested this there in a comment, and it is as you say currently a redirect there anyway, so presumably as a primary redirect. But yes, I also note that AjaxSmack commented that "Artsakh"... should probably be a disambiguation page. If you wish to pursue this I guess the first thing is to see what arguments they would each advance. Andrewa (talk) 02:17, 20 August 2017 (UTC)
I have opened a Move Request discussion regarding this at Talk:Artsakh (disambiguation). —  AjaxSmack  02:44, 20 August 2017 (UTC)
Thank you both for responding! Not sure myself, now that you mention it, that there actually is a primary topic for the Artsakh title. Guess we'll see soon enough.  Paine Ellsworth  put'r there  07:45, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

Palestine[edit]

I wonder under what criteria is Palestine included in states with limited recognition. Because although it's true that Palestine is such a case, same can be said about Israel and China. The three countries are recognized by most UN members, but not for all. And I have nothing against Israel or China, just in case, I just think we have to be fair and give the same treatment to all states. --Dereck Camacho (talk) 07:51, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

PD: In any case I would suggest to place Palestine up, in the same area where China and Israel are, not to put China and Israel in the unrecognized section. --Dereck Camacho (talk) 07:52, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

The template copies the categorisation agreed for Template:Countries of Asia; I suggest raising this query on its talk page. Warofdreams talk 18:10, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
Thank you, I will. --Dereck Camacho (talk) 19:24, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
